Classes We offer a Parents & Tots group and over 20 different classes for learners from 3 years old to adult. We welcome both native and good English speakers as well as those with little or no previous knowledge of English: Parents & Tots Playgroup Classes Reading and Writing Classes English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Classes Examination Classes Private Classes for Children and Adults As we offer so many different levels of classes we can ensure that each child is placed in both an age and ability-appropriate class. The E S P does not work with set curricula for most of the classes. This allows us to meet the needs of each individual learner whilst enabling them to reach a particular level of proficiency by the end of the school year. Playgroup Our English playgroup provides a happy and relaxed learning environment for children aged 3–6 years in Bern. Through a variety of engaging activities, including painting, crafts, singing, stories and games, children develop their English language skills while having fun. Each session also includes plenty of opportunities for free and imaginative play using our wide range of toys, games and dressing-up clothes. In the more advanced groups, children are introduced to early reading, writing and mathematical readiness skills through age-appropriate activities and play-based learning. We take special care to ensure that every child can participate according to their individual age, ability and stage of development. Reading & Writing Our Reading & Writing classes in Bern help children develop the four core English language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Lessons are both challenging and enjoyable, with activities designed to strengthen oral communication, reading comprehension and written expression from beginner to advanced levels. These English classes are ideal for children who speak English at home, are growing up bilingually, or already have a strong level of English fluency. Through engaging and age-appropriate learning activities, students build confidence and accuracy in both spoken and written English.
